All the extra details

How big are the groups?

  • The groups are always 8. This can be one big group booking, individuals, or a mixture of smaller groups. We can cater for a variety of abilities in any groups, and mountain bikers are a friendly, chatty bunch, so do not be put off if you are not joining as a group!

What skill level do I need?

  • We can cater for all skill levels. We have access to a variety of graded cross - country trails of various lengths, from gentle riding to pushing your pro abilities to the limits. A reasonable level of fitness is needed, as it is a hilly part of the world. The group can be split by ability to make sure everyone is comfortable with their riding and enjoying it. If we feel you would benefit from it, we can also come riding with you.

What bike do I need?

  • We recommend a good XC or trails bike. Full suspension is recommended, however we ride hardtail ourselves. The brand, price or age of the bike does not really matter, just make sure it is well maintained and recently serviced.

What do I need to bring?

We will transport your bike and riding gear so you do not really need to take anything on the plane with you. The weather can be changeable, so bring a good selection of riding clothes for all weather. Don't forget water bottles or water pack. We recommend you bring a multi-tool for the trail. The only spares we ask you to provide (if you can) are wheel spokes and derailleur hanger as these tend to be fairly unique to your bike in size and shape! We send out a full kit list upon booking.

What is not included in the price?

  • Your plane ticket, and you train ticket from Paris to the local train station (one of us will be there taking the train with you at a set date and time). Wine is provided with the evening meal, and a supply of beer back at the accommodation, but any extra alcohol is not included.

What spares do you carry?

This is not an exhaustive list, but:

  • Chains, tyres (26, 27.5, 29), puncture repairs, tubes, cables, pedals (flat & spd), grips, tubeless sealant and tape, wheels (26, 27.5, 29), bars, spare batteries for electronic shifting, brake disks, brake pads, bottle cages, valves, brake fluids, brake callipers and lines, levers, some derailleurs, some forks and fork components. We have sealed and loose bearings, some bottom brackets, cassettes and freehub bodies. We also carry all the consumables, such as bike cleaners, chain oil etc...  If we really, really cannot fix it, we have spare bikes too! Obviously, the more expensive spares are installed on your bike on a temporary basis - But you will not be liable for any damages to them.

Do you take E-bikes?

  • We do not. These are difficult to transport, and difficult to fix in the wild.

Can I use a gravel bike?

  • We have never tried it, but you are welcomed to try! If it doesn't work out, you can always finish the week on one of our spare bikes.

What are the accomodations like?

  • You will be staying in a high quality traditional French shared house. We use a few different ones depending on the time of year, but individual rooms are available as standard. Usually the bathrooms are shared, but their are plenty of them! We make sure the accommodations have lots of places to relax indoors and outdoors so you can talk about your day to others.
